In New York, there are several qualifying conditions that allow one to become certified for the medical Marijuana program. Several severe diagnoses such as Cancer, HIV, Parkinson’s and Fibromyalgia are qualifying conditions. The most common conditions reported are typically Chronic pain and PTSD. Conditions like chronic pain can include arthritis, migraines, herniated disks, and neuropathic pain. It is up to the certifying practitioner whether you meet the criteria for a qualifying condition. In the near future, practitioners will be allowed more leeway with recommendations and won’t be beholden to a list specifically.
